PC recyclers can help IT departments dispose of old equipment and ensure legal compliance. There are concerns regarding the safety of the company's data and information leaks, but most concerns regarding dishonest PC recyclers are unfounded. Nevertheless, IT managers should still select bonded and insured recyclers, and closely inspect their disposal process.

Do Not Be Afraid to Use PC Recyclers

While IT managers should not forget about data security when handing over devices to PC recyclers, cases of dishonest recyclers stealing data from these devices are extremely rare. There is no concrete evidence that PC recyclers are stealing client data on a systematic and recurring basis. The story of the enterprise having all of its proprietary information sold to its competitors by the disposal shop is more an urban legend than an actual concern.
