US enterprises lost approximately $100 billion from the theft of trade secrets last year, with over half of the losses coming from small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs). High-level executives need to be especially vigilant as they are often prime targets. The IT department is a crucial line of defense against corporate espionage and must utilize all the tools available to keep proprietary information safe.
